Ruggedized Control and Console Unit

The proposed “Ruggedized Control and Console Unit” caters for acquisition and processing of video and control signals of multi-channel EO surveillance system. In addition, it has high performance computing platform with high contrast sun readable display for seamless running of computational expensive image processing algorithm & application. The control console unit receives H.264 compressed digital video & serial control data from wireless receiver or optical fiber consist  

The “Ruggedized control & console unit” would enable the acquisition of video and control serial data from the EO payload located at the far off end using IP network infrastructure. A set of “Ruggedized control & console unit”  

A military Ethernet Switch (or MIL-SPEC network switch) is a specialized networking device designed to provide reliable and secure network connectivity in harsh military environments. 

The term “military grade” is often used in advertising to indicate a rugged and tough product that can withstand the elements. From automotive parts to apparel, it seems that military grade options are offered for just about any product you can imagine. 

MIL-SPEC (defense specification). The use of "milspec" is just the informal way of signifying that something meets a certain Military Standard (MIL-STD) or Military Specification (MIL-SPEC). Two examples of MIL-STD's used in our industry that we deal with often are MIL-STD-461F and MIL-STD-810G. 

The switch requires an operating temperature of 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit (0 to 40 degrees Celsius). If the switch is not operating, the temperature must be between –40 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit (–40 to 70 degrees Celsius). High humidity can cause moisture to enter the switch.
